Colophon

or: the way it becomes

You can think of this as a personal weblog rather than a portfolio. Here, you may find notes varying in length about design, my late-20s life, or my hobbies and interests. Expect frequent design tweaks here and there.

Design

The first iteration of this website was live in May 2025, and a significant chunk was redesigned in June 2026. The overall tone of the latest version was inspired by the display of bookish and e-ink devices, with personal twists.

Writing

I suppose that the letters and the words and the sentences hold this website together. All in all, the writing is a part of the design (it is the design, even). I keep this site homey and casual, with a personal style guide for consistency. Here’s a part of it:

  1. Use sentence case for titles, headings, and most list items.
  2. Use em dashes without spaces.
  3. Use en dashes to specify a range.
  4. Linked text should describe the content of the link or the result of clicking the link. Do not use arbitrary terms like this.
  5. End sentence list items with periods.
  6. Commas and periods go inside quotation marks.
  7. Use title case and italicize titles of books, movies, and artworks.

Technical

Designed and protyped in Visual Studio Code. Built with Astro, deployed to Netlify. For typography, I use Piazzolla and Public Sans. Umami collects some privacy-friendly data for analytics purposes.
